RedWeb Security

A new year, a new website. We are proud to kick the year off with the launch of a new website for RedWeb Security - www.redwebsecurity.com.

This site was built to extremely tight timescales. The project only kicked off at the end of November but shows what can be achieved when there is a real focus from ourselves and the client to hit a deadline.

The site has been built using the Drupal content management system.

Llama Digital Takes on Fundraising Challenge for Breast Cancer Care

On Thursday August 6th Llama Digital attended the first Breast Cancer Care Ladies Day at Costco and helped to raise £805.00 for Breast Cancer Care, the UK's leading provider of breast cancer information and support.

Following this event we have decided to adopt Breast Cancer Care as our charity of the year we will make a donation at the end of the year from all new work that comes into the agency.

Abigail Batchelor, Area Fundraiser – North & Midlands at Breast Cancer Care said:

"We are delighted that Llama Digital is supporting Breast Cancer Care. Every contribution makes a difference and enables Breast Cancer Care to continue to provide people affected by breast cancer with free support and information when they need it most."

Breast cancer is now the most common cancer among women in the UK. Every week, over 800 people receive the devastating news that they have breast cancer. Breast Cancer Care aims to be there for every one of them, their family and their friends.

Mind the Gap Shortlisted for Award

The Mind the Gap website has been shortlisted for the Yorkshire Digital Awards 2009 - in the Best Business-to-Consumer Website category.

Whilst we don't design websites to win awards, it's always a morale booster to get some recognition so of course we're delighted! The results are announced on May 7th. We're hoping for a repeat of our success in 2006 when we scooped the award for Best Information website for the Red Tape site.

Mind The Gap Website Launched

We're delighted to announce the launch of the new website for Mind the Gap - a theatre group for actors with learning disabilities.

Llama Digital has completely redesigned Mind the Gap's website to coincide with their relocation to a fantastic new purpose-built venue in Bradford's Silk Warehouse. The site has been built around the Drupal Content Management System which allows Mind the Gap to retain total control over the content on their website.

We've had a great time working with Mind The Gap during the production of their new website. They are an inspirational organisation, and we hope to have done them justice with their new website.

We've Moved!

As of the beginning of July 2008 Llama Digital are based at Sheffield Technology Parks in central Sheffield. For details about our new location please see the contact page.

We enjoyed our time at the Quadrant, which is just a couple of miles outside of the city centre, but the time was right for a change. We now have much more space - Jamie can have a proper desk now! - and it will allow us to continue to expand.

Also, it helps us to keep our carbon footprint down. All staff are now able to easily get to work on foot, bike or public transport. However, we do have a parking space which we reserve for visitors and we are just a couple of minutes walk from Sheffield Train Station. So it's easier than ever to come and see us - so pop in for a coffee and a chat!

New Network Box site launched

Network Box provide a managed internet security service. Network Box UK were one of Llama Digital's first clients back in 2003. To keep the website in line with the changes at Network Box in the last five years they decided to have a complete overhaul of the original website and we were naturally delighted to be selected to carry out this work. We completely redesigned the website and rebuilt it around the awarding winning Drupal content management system.

There are now plans to roll out the UK website framework across all the different Network Box country sites.

From the Frontline in the World's Hotspots

The From the Frontline website features blogs from a variety of writers reporting from different locations around the world including Afghanistan, Zimbabwe, Mexico, Columbia, Democratic Republic of Congo and others.

The blogs make incredible reading. They are well written and provide news from people on the ground in many of the world's hotspots, without censorship. The range of blogs include live blogging, photographs, video footage and twittering.

Vaughan Smith's blog from Afghanistan has been shortlisted for a Media Guardian Innovation Award. Vaughan blogged his every move and filmed the moves of those around him in Helmand province, Afghanistan. The blog culminated in a 16 minute report for BBC Newsnight.

CRESST website launched

CRESST is a Sheffield-based charity who help children and young people learn conflict resolution skills that can be used in their schools and communities. We have been delighted to work with CRESST to create a new website which launched in January 2008.

We also provided CRESST with a content management system to easily administer the website themselves.

Outdoor Retailer Ready for Christmas Rush

Chevin Trek are an independent retailer based in Otley, West Yorkshire who sell outdoor clothing and equipment.

We have provided an e-commerce site that allows Chevin Trek to sell hundreds of products online from across their full catalogue. Chevin Trek are able to manage all aspects of the website themselves - including amending product details, special offers, fulfilment configurations etc.

They're now bracing themselves to cope with the Christmas rush!

Sheffield PR Company

Llama Digital has launched a brand new website for Sheffield PR company, All Credit Media: www.allcreditmedia.com.

Ian Cheetham at All Credit Media says:

New Website for Leading Fencing Company

Darfen Durafencing is the UK market leader in the supply and installation of perimeter fencing and access control systems. They are based in Doncaster.

Llama Digital provided Darfen with a fully redesigned website: www.darfen.co.uk. It features extensive information about their product range and services. The site is built around the Llama Digital content management system (CMS), allowing Darfen to in full control of the site content.

The site also features product videos provided by Llama Digital (Delta Cantilever Gate).

We have also provided Darfen with the tools needed for them to manage their email marketing. This included an auto-generation tool for building their e-newsletter, as well as the ability to manager their subscriber list.

British Stainless Steel launched

We are delighted to announce the launch of the new British Stainless Steel website. This has been a major project for us, working in partnership with Rare Creative - also in Sheffield.

Llama Digital completely redesigned from scratch the BSSA website which was originally launched in 2000. The new site has a strong emphasis on usability – there is a huge repository of information which needs to be easily located by users. The site consists of many hundreds of pages, which makes this one of the largest sites produced by Llama Digital.

Frontline Club website

The Frontline Club is a media club based in central London. It consists of a private members club but also a restaurant and a forum space open to the public. The Club was set up by the surviving members of a team of war cameramen.

The new site features streaming video and regular video webcasts and photography from internationally renowned photographers including Alexandra Boulat, Gary Knight and Marcus Bleasdale. It allows users to book and pay online for events. It also has an integrated email management system that allows regular communication with the 10,000 registered users of the site.

PR website launched

Llama Digital has launched a brand new website for Sheffield-based media relations and event management company Anderson Waugh Communications.

The new site is fully content managed, which will allow Anderson Waugh to look after their own content - in particular to keep the site up to date with all the latest press releases they put out. The site is designed to comply with the latest accessibility guidelines. As well as being usable to people with disabilities this also means it is more user-friendly to all users, is well-optimised for search engines, and is very quick to download pages.

Business Link Presentation - Selling Online

Stephen made a presentation on behalf of Business Link entitled 'Selling Online', covering the basics of getting started with ecommerce.

The event, at the Hilton Hotel in Sheffield, was attended by over 120 people. It covered general principles of selling online:

• Why consider selling online?
• Who should consider it?
• What sort of products should you sell?
• How it works - internet merchant accounts, payment gateways, third party processors

We then looked at some more specific details:

• Using PayPal
• Setting up an ebay store
• Choosing shopping cart software
• Choosing a hosted shopping cart service
